Drinking - Never drive
Harsh consequences feature in the latest evolution of the drink driving campaign, In your hands, which has commenced this week confronting Queensland road users with the stark reality of what can happen if they choose to drink and drive.
Lives lost from drink driving-related crashes have continued to increase over the past few years, and overall the number of lives lost is trending towards the highest we've had in over a decade.
The campaign aims to shock those who choose to drink and drive out of their complacency.
A range of negative consequences can be seen across a number of fake alcoholic brews (including ‘Dead Mate and Dry’ and ‘Smashed Skull and Soda’) showing the devastating impacts of drinking and driving.
The campaign quite literally puts the consequences into road users' hands, making it become their personal choice to avoid a serious outcome.
With so many alternatives to driving after drinking, the campaign's tagline 'Drinking? Never drive' reminds everyone of the need to separate drinking and driving.
